She chose him when no one did

The rain kept falling…
And there he was—little Punch, sitting alone, soaked and shivering, holding onto his tiny orange toy like it was the only thing keeping him together.
It was all he had.
No one called him.
No one came back for him.
No one chose him.
Until… someone did.
A gentle macaque slowly approached.
Punch froze.

His small hands tightened around his toy, bracing for rejection… for more fear… for the same loneliness he had already known.
But this time… it was different.
She didn’t push him away.
She didn’t ignore him.
She simply reached out… and softly touched his head.
And in that quiet moment—everything changed.
She pulled him close, wrapping him in her arms, shielding him from the cold rain… holding him like he mattered.

Like he belonged.
Punch didn’t resist.
Slowly… gently… he let go of his toy.
And held onto her instead.
Because for the first time in his life…
he wasn’t alone anymore.
That night, the rain didn’t feel so cold.
There were no tears.
No fear.
Just warmth.
Just safety.
Just love.
And for the first time…
he fell asleep in a place that finally felt like home.
