Running Into Safety

Little Punch, the tiny orphaned macaque, can hardly contain himself when he sees the one person he trusts most.

The moment his eyes land on the zookeeper, something changes. His small body comes alive with excitement. Without hesitation, he stretches his tiny arms upward and reaches out—then begins to climb, holding tightly, eager to be as close as possible.

It’s such a simple moment… but it speaks volumes.

The way he reaches up feels just like a child running toward someone they know will protect them. No fear. No hesitation. Just pure trust.

There are no words between them, but Punch doesn’t need any.
His body says everything.

Joy in the way he moves.
Comfort in the way he clings.
Safety in the way he refuses to let go.

For a baby who once knew loneliness, who once had nothing to hold onto, this connection means everything.

Because this is no longer just a caretaker.

This is someone who makes his world feel safe again
