Just a Little Longer

Feeding time is over.

The caretaker turns to leave…
but Punch—the little Japanese macaque—isn’t ready.

Not yet.

He clings tighter, tiny hands wrapped around the one place that feels safe. No pulling away. No letting go.

No words.
No sound.

Just a quiet feeling that says everything:

“Stay a little longer.”

For Punch, it’s not about the food anymore.

It’s about what comes after.
The warmth.
The comfort.
The presence that makes the world feel a little less uncertain.

When you’ve once known what it’s like to feel alone…

you don’t rush moments like this.

You hold on to them.

Because sometimes, the deepest bonds aren’t the loudest ones.

They’re the ones that don’t want to end.

The ones that simply…
hold on.
