A dramatic rescue mission unfolded when a dog named Luna fell nearly 130 feet down a steep cliff during a hike.

Luna had been exploring the rocky terrain with her owner when she accidentally slipped and tumbled down the cliffside into a deep canyon. The fall left the dog stranded far below, unable to climb back up.

Hearing Luna’s cries from the bottom of the cliff, her owner quickly called emergency rescue teams.

Because the terrain was extremely steep and dangerous, rescuers had to perform a technical rope rescue. Carefully secured with climbing gear, members of the rescue team slowly descended the cliff to reach the frightened dog.
