A truck was recently stopped by police on a road in Indonesia after officers noticed something unusual about the vehicle. 🚓

When authorities opened the back of the truck to inspect it, they were shocked by what they discovered inside.

A total of 226 dogs had been tightly packed into sacks, squeezed together in extremely cramped conditions. Many of the animals were weak, frightened, and struggling to breathe after being confined for so long. 🐶💔

According to initial reports, the dogs were allegedly being transported as part of an illegal animal trade network. Some of the animals are believed to have been taken from homes or captured from the streets before being loaded into the truck.

Fortunately, the police intervention came just in time.

The truck was stopped before it could reach its destination, and all 226 dogs were rescued immediately. Authorities transferred the animals to a rescue shelter where they received medical checks, food, water, and much-needed care. 🏥🐾

Several individuals connected to the transport were also taken into custody as the investigation continued.
