🦊 A Little Visitor Has Been Coming to My Garden Every Night

Back in March, I noticed something unusual in my garden.
A small fox had started appearing near the back door. At first, I didn’t pay too much attention. I’ve never really known much about foxes, and honestly, the only thing I associated them with was my dog barking like crazy every time he spotted one. 🐕🦊
So during those first few days, I ignored him.
Part of me felt it was the right thing to do. After all, foxes are wild animals, and I didn’t want him becoming dependent on humans for food or comfort.
But things slowly changed.

The fox kept coming back.
Day after day, evening after evening, I would suddenly notice a small shape sitting quietly in the garden. Sometimes he would stand near the glass door, looking inside with curious eyes. 🥹
There was something about that little face pressed gently against the glass that was impossible to ignore.

Soon, it became a bit of a nightly routine.
Of course, it wasn’t always easy. My dog absolutely loses his mind whenever he sees the fox. So every evening, I have to carefully distract him — sometimes guiding him into another room or pulling down the conservatory blinds so the two of them don’t start another barking match through the glass door. 😅🐕
Eventually, I gave in and started leaving a bit of food outside.
Nothing fancy — usually a couple of chicken wings, a bowl of wet dog food, a Bonio biscuit, and sometimes even a raw egg. And without fail, the fox shows up to enjoy his little meal.
Now he visits every single evening.
Seeing him has become one of those small, quiet moments that brighten the day — watching him cautiously approach, sniff the air, and slowly enjoy the food. 🦊🍗

But as he became a regular visitor, a new question started to cross my mind.
If he’s coming here every night, should I be doing anything more to help him?
Should he be treated for fleas or worms? Is there something else I should or shouldn’t be feeding him? I can’t imagine anyone else doing that for him, and he seems to rely on this nightly visit.
I still want him to stay wild and free, but at the same time, it’s hard not to care about him.
After all, when a little fox chooses your garden as part of his nightly journey… it’s difficult not to feel a connection. 🦊💛
