🐾✈️ 170 Dogs Rescued from South Korean Dog Meat Farm in Massive Freedom Mission

In a powerful rescue operation bringing hope to hundreds of animals, Humane Society International has saved more than 170 dogs from a dog meat farm in Namyangju, South Korea.

When rescuers arrived, they found heartbreaking conditions. Dogs of many breeds—including golden retrievers, spaniels, beagles, greyhounds, and Korean Jindo dogs—were confined in small, filthy cages. Many were suffering from untreated wounds, skin infections, and painful sores after years without veterinary care or proper nutrition.

For these animals, life had been nothing but confinement and neglect.

But the rescue marked the beginning of a new chapter.

One by one, the dogs were carefully removed from their cages and given immediate medical attention, food, and comfort. Many were frightened at first, but rescuers say some quickly began wagging their tails—perhaps sensing that their lives were finally about to change.

Soon, these brave survivors will begin their journey to safety. The dogs are being transported to shelters and rescue organizations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, where they will receive treatment, rehabilitation, and eventually loving adoptive homes.

The rescue is also part of a broader effort by Humane Society International to help close dog meat farms permanently while supporting farmers in transitioning to more humane livelihoods.

For these 170 dogs, what once seemed like a lifetime of suffering is now turning into something extraordinary: a chance to run on grass, feel kindness, and finally experience what it means to be loved.

Sometimes the biggest victories for animals begin with a single rescue—and the courage to believe every life deserves compassion. 🐶💛🌍
