Today, I Choose Courage

Today is the day.
The day I never thought would be part of my story…
yet here I am, standing at the edge of one of the biggest battles of my life.
My name is Paula.
And this morning, I’m walking into surgery to remove cancer from my body.

Even saying it feels unreal.
Cancer.
A word I never imagined would belong to me.
But life doesn’t always ask if we’re ready.
Sometimes, it simply calls us to be strong.
Right now, I feel everything all at once—
fear… hope… faith… love.
I think about the little things.
The laughter I’m not ready to lose.
The hugs I still want to hold onto.
The people I love more than words could ever express.

Because this isn’t just surgery.
It’s a turning point.
A moment where faith has to be louder than fear…
and courage has to rise, even when everything feels uncertain.
So today, I make a choice.
I choose courage.
I choose to believe healing is coming.
I choose to believe brighter days are ahead.
If you’re reading this, I’m asking for something simple—
a prayer, a kind thought, or even just a small ❤️
Because every bit of love reminds me…
I’m not fighting this alone.
And if my story reaches your heart,
share it.
Because no one should ever have to face their battle alone.
Together, we can carry hope a little further… one story at a time.
