At just 10 years old, Itai Ben Miriam has already faced a life-changing battle—one that would challenge even the strongest of hearts.
On February 12, 2026, Itai underwent emergency brain surgery, a moment filled with fear, uncertainty, and hope all at once. The procedure, a craniotomy, was critical. For his family, it meant placing their trust entirely in the hands of the medical team—and in something greater.
Then came the news they had been desperately hoping for. Doctors were able to completely remove the tumor. It was a moment of relief in the middle of an overwhelming storm. After spending two weeks in the hospital, Itai began his recovery with a strength that surprised even those caring for him.
Day by day, he pushed forward, until he was finally able to return home—a milestone that meant more than words could express. But the journey was far from over. Soon after, doctors confirmed the diagnosis: Medulloblastoma, a type of childhood brain cancer. The word alone carried weight, marking the beginning of a long and demanding road ahead.
His treatment plan is intense. Six weeks of daily radiation therapy, combined with weekly chemotherapy, will be the first phase. After a short period of rest, he will continue with 12 to 18 months of chemotherapy—a test of endurance, patience, and strength. And yet, through it all, Itai remains extraordinary. Even during his time in the hospital, surrounded by uncertainty, he continued to smile.
He joked with those around him, lifting the spirits of everyone in the room. There is a light in him—a resilience that refuses to be dimmed, even in the face of something so serious. Doctors are hopeful. His family is holding tightly to that hope, leaning on their faith in God every single day, trusting that each step forward—no matter how small—is leading somewhere better. Itai’s story is not just about illness. It’s about courage. About a young boy who continues to stand strong, not because the journey is easy, but because he chooses to keep going—one day, one smile, one moment at a time. 💛
