Hachiko was born in 1923 and later adopted by Hidesaburō Ueno, a professor at the University of Tokyo. The professor loved his dog deeply, and the two quickly formed a strong bond.

Every morning, Hachiko walked with Professor Ueno to Shibuya Station. The professor would board the train to go to work, and Hachiko would return home. In the afternoon, the loyal dog came back to the station to greet his owner when he returned from work.
