Among piles of discarded plastic bottles and trash bags, rescuers discovered something heartbreaking — a small dog sitting quietly inside a worn cardboard box.
The tiny black-and-gray pup didn’t bark or try to escape. Instead, he simply looked up with tired eyes, as if hoping someone might finally notice him.
