“In Her Eyes, I Was Always Enough”

There are moments in life when you start to question how the world sees you. You notice the comparisons. The expectations. The silent judgments that sometimes say more than words ever could. And slowly, you begin to wonder where you truly belong in all of it. But then there is her. My mother. When she looks at me, everything else fades away. It’s never about how I compare to others, or whether I meet the world’s standards of success or appearance. In her eyes, something else has always mattered more. She sees me. Not just who I am today, but who I am trying to become. She sees the effort behind my silence, the kindness I try to hold onto, and the parts of me that the world often overlooks. And every time she smiles and says, “Such a handsome young man,” it carries something deeper than words. It carries acceptance. Belief. Love without conditions.

Growing up, I didn’t always understand how much that meant. But over time, I realized that her love became my foundation. When the world felt uncertain, her voice became my reminder that I wasn’t defined by doubt or comparison.

In her arms, I found calm.
In her encouragement, I found courage.
And in her presence, I found a version of myself that felt whole.
Not everyone will see your worth clearly. Not everyone will understand your heart. But a mother’s love has a way of revealing a truth the world often forgets:
You are already enough.
Already valued.
Already deeply loved.
And sometimes, that is everything a person needs to keep going. ❤️
